Full membership in EIA, including voting rights and the ability to serve on the board of directors, is open to two classes of businesses: (1) ecommerce retailers; and (2) providers of a technology solution that is intended to help ecommerce retailers operate their ecommerce operations.
An ecommerce retailer sells products or services to customers online. Ecommerce retailers can sell a variety of items, such as software, apparel, housewares, or web design services. It is not required that ecommerce retailers sell their products exclusively through online channels.
Technology providers offer software or other technology solutions utilized by ecommerce retailers to support their online sales efforts. It is not required that the technology provider offer solutions exclusively to ecommerce companies or exclusively to facilitate online sales.
Associate membership in EIA is available to businesses that provide goods or services to the ecommerce industry (consulting firms, law firms, suppliers and those companies not otherwise qualifying as a full member). Associate Members are non-voting members.
